Accenture Holdings Limited (AHL) is a fast growing Medium Sized Business (ME) which was established in 2011 by two like minded enterpreneurs – Braison Malimi Salisali and Michael Mnafe Kitulizo.

Accenture is an entity with all the legal and regulatory certifications.

  • To provide state of the art commodities trading services to cater for the local and international markets demands – with primary focus on Cassava, Sorghum, Sunflower and Sesame.
  • To ensure high end standards on the value chain from Farm to folk or Farm to Factory.
  • To create value and make a difference by creating sustainable markets for the commodities producing societies.

 Business Formation

The company in the beginning started with three businesses in small scale. The company started with horticultural production and trading.

Later on the bussiness moved on to start trading commodites with a focus in grains and pease. The company has a grain mill facility in Dodoma and Dar es Salaam, focus being in Maize grains milling and supplies. The combined capacity for both mills is 30MT per day.

In 2012, the commpany made a milestone where it was picked among the best commodities trader in the central corridor (Dodoma and Singida) and awarded a huge supply contract – through the Warehouse Management System, more than 1,200MT of sunflower seeds. This was arranged by CRDB.

In 2013/15, with our growing expertise is commodities, especially in the central corridor, we managed to manage the supply chain of more than 500MT of white sorghum from Singida to SBL.

In 2014/15 the company worked (subcontracted) with Kibaigwa Flour Mills to source supply substantial quantities of high quality white sorghum for TBL.

The scarcity for quality and reliable supplies in commodities was a major strength for Accenture to grow its commodities trading business and in 2015, we managed again to supply more than 1,500MT of seed cakes to IK Oils company in India, with a contract worth more than $300K.

To enhance its commodities trading platform, Accenture managed to secure a good business in Mobile money – Tigo Pesa Super Agent, where by, through the platform, the company has more than 3,000 retail agents under it, and can use same to organize, manage and facilitates financial outreach our contract farmers.

Accenture has then grown from a mere Tzs 22M turnover in 2011 to more than Tzs 5.5Bn in 2015 and revenues of more than Tzs 1Bn in 2015, 65% of the aggregate being driven the commodities business.

Business Segmentation

  • The first business line for the company is commodities trading. The Company has extensive expertise in;
    • ground operations – where by on top of our farm operations, we have more than 1,000 sorghum and sunflower contract farmers in Ikungi, Singida Rural and Iramba Municipals. These provide us with assured supplies during harvests.
    • Supply Chain – The company has good and extensive collection networks and storage facilities in Singida and Dodoma. This ensure us with realiable and timely collections of bulky requirenemnsts. With our expertise in logistics, ours is an unquestionable know how in organizing and timely delivery.
  •  The second line of business is Agro Processing. The company, on top of its operational Maize and Cassava flour Mills, has acquired an Industrial plot with a size of more than 27,000sqm at Chamwino Ikulu Industrial Park where it is in its advanced stages of setting up a state of art storage facilities, enhance its milling capacity (to 150MT per day) and an oil seed facility.
  • To cater for the growing demand of commodities and ensuring reliable, timely and quality supplies, the company has a big farm with an area of about 1000Ha in Rufiji District. The company is currently using 30% of the farm for Cassava farming and after passing the soil testing, the company will venture into White Sorghum, Sunflower and sesame, starting the forth coming season. This will address the logistics costs for commodities supplies in Dar es Salaam.
  • The bussiness line is mobile money bussiness where AHL is the Tigo Pesa Super Agent working for Millicom (T) Mobile Solutions (TIGO), servising and managing Retail Agents. The operations started with less than 250 Retail Agents in 2013 and have grown to more than 3,000 Retail Agents in 2015.
